Stop the Street Stalls

Unless local businesses and residents approve!

The Labour Council have approved a scheme to introduce permanent street stalls into high streets across the Borough.  In Wanstead the Council are seeking to licence 9 street stalls on its High Street, potentially open 7 days a week and all year round.

This will add yet more clutter on our already over-crowded pavements and undercut existing retailers, likely leading to more disused shops.  The stalls will attract yet more graffiti which the Council do nothing about.

We deplore the fact that the Council is imposing this unwelcome measure with not even the pretence of consultation of local business or residents.

We the undersigned object to the scheme and demand that the Council halt its implementation in those areas not properly consulted (such as Wanstead):
