Wanstead Labour – Lost in a time Vortex
Wanstead Labour – Lost in a time Vortex
If you live in Wanstead Village then, like me, you may have just received election literature promoting their 3 candidates. Naturally for Labour, the candidates are very busy making up for lost time, communicating regularly with residents in the weeks running up to the May 7th election. On this latest one, perhaps swallowed by a time vortex along with Teresa May’s PMship, they have reflected on the Labour/Conservative election battle of 8 years ago! Not that it is obvious, the reference to the 2018 election is in tiny print (circled bottom right), maybe such daydreams should be a bit more obvious as I’m sure they wouldn’t want to mislead anyone.
Why are they using the 2018 results? I do not know, they are busy so maybe it was just an error that slipped them by. Or maybe they just forgot about the 2022 election, time is after all is a rather abstract concept to Labour, ask them how long it takes to build a swimming pool or rebuild a hospital!
Anyhow, we have taken a break from fixing church roofs, the Lib Dem team are here to help Wanstead Labour with their figures. The following chart shows the result from the most recent local election (2022); Labour got back in☹ The Conservative vote share plummeted, so no need for the misleading Labour headline? The Lib Dem share on the other hand had more than doubled to 20%. In recent local elections Labour and Conservatives have been polling extremely badly!
So the good news is that with the Lib Dems polling well in recent local elections and the Conservative share falling, there is no need to worry about letting the Conservatives back in. Vote for your 3 Liberal Democrat candidates (Mark Gitsham, Humza Sair & Mohammed Uddin) to get Labour out and give Wanstead Village the councillors it deserves.
