Wanstead Green Party Join Labour in Space-Time Vortex

The Liberal Democrats see the protection of our natural environment as vital for our future, like some in the Green Party. However, Green Party election material for the 7th May raises serious questions about accuracy.
In a recent leaflet, they used this chart to suggest that they were the party to beat Labour “here”.

Wanstead Green Party Leyton and Wanstead chart used by Green Party
Not Wanstead Village and not this election!

The problem was in the small print. “Here” was no longer Wanstead in the middle of local elections, the Green party have joined Labour in the space-time vortex (details). In this case it’s space not time that is the bigger problem. It is General Election polling data for Leyton & Wanstead, the Parliamentary constituency. The Greens seem not to know that Leyton is a very different place to Wanstead Village, in a different London Borough and eight times the size of Wanstead.

Local election data is hard to find but some polling companies do forecast down to ward level for local elections.  I found pollcheck.co.uk was predicting vastly different results for May 2026 local elections in Wanstead Village, compared to the Green election leaflets.  It currently looks like this:

Representation of a space-time vortex
pollcheck.co.uk Graph show poll prediction for Wanstead Village
Wanstead Village projected local election result, as of May 4th 2026, see pollcheck.co.uk

It looks close, don't let the Greens use misleading data to fragment the vote and keep Labour in power!

Use your 3 votes for the Liberal Democrat Candidates - Mark Gitsham, Humza Sair, and Mohammed Uddin on May 7th.
